lies the fertile Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia’s farming heart, and I’ve 14 days of touring the Annapolis Basin deliberate, together with some household time, some nice meals and cocktails on sundown decks, watching the clammers clamber over the low-tide mud, and a sluggish rising Buck full moon, begging to be howled at.
My first six days in Nova Scotia might be exploring Cape Breton, ending my Highlands journey on the historic Fortress of Louisburg. Again on the north shore, there might be day journeys to Bear River, Annapolis Royal and The French Shore, together with the Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Area, and the rugged and exquisite, wind-swept Mavillette Seaside Seaside Provincial Park; these 28 pictures will make you wish to return to Nova Scotia, which is probably nowhere else on the earth: far-off from the everyday vacationer routes.
